SHOCKING

Real shocking to hear that this year's World Series is the lowest in recent memory maybe in the modern era. Hmmm.. Maybe because ESPN and FOX during the regular season only show games played by the Mets or Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, or Astros??

Further more, all the prognosticators and experts only talk about and mention the AL East and LA markets. If these other 25 or so teams aren't exposed and no one knows the players cause they aren't on TV why would you expect them to all of a sudden watch.

Baseball games in Novemeber is another genious idea. Why can't the games be shorted by a week? Is 3 games of revenue really that crucial to pushing a profit? Are Sunday double headers really that bad of an idea. Is anyone else has sick and tired of television controlling and munipulating todays sports??

Once last note, why isn't the luxary tax increased? Is George W. Bush Cheney Rove and the gang running Major League Baseball too? Controlling the tax burden on the rich? The Yankees had a reported payroll of $194mill whether that includes Sheffield Abreu Pavano.. while the Florida 4 rookies with 10 wins+ Marlins wiht a $15 mil payroll. That doesn't effect competition at all..hmm

Mets in '07 but i'd prefer Pirates Blue Jays good luck Twinkies,Brewers, Padres, Marlines, and Mariners you'll need it.

BYE WEEK

we're goin to indianapolis and houstan and new york and baltimore
byahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

According to 90% of half the Bills fans around here it's already Sabres season. Seems to me the Bills still have 5 homes games and haven't even played half their schedule. Does everyone forget two seasons ago when the Bills started 0-4 and were playing the biggest game(Jan. 2 2005 v Pittsburgh) in the Ralph since the latter part of the 90's??

For some reason me and my friend were willing to pay upwards of $150 just to get into game 16 for the Bills to have a chance at making the playoffs even after starting 1-5. Well we're already 2-5 so we have that season beat this point. Another thing, not since that season has owner Ralph Wilson completely undressed the team and called them all out. Ralph speaks out

I wouldn't even make my prediction of the Bills going 11-5 only if Losman plays like Steve Young circa 1995 because I think its on our defense to actually do something. Spikes will have rested for 2 more weeks, Clements will realize he is costing him self $3-$5mill in signing bonus money and maybe even Mcgee will learn how to cover somebody.

In other news..

JASON PETERS IS FINALLY MOVING TO LEFT TACKLE! I've been asking for this move since the offseason. For those with less knowledge of the offensiveline, the left tackle is the most important piece protecting JP's blind side. Peters is arguably the most athletic on the line, has the most potential, and can succeed in the most difficult position on the o-line. Also, Reyes is getting the hook, free agent to be Mike Gandy is moving to left tackle (allegedly his more natural position although he has only played about 5 games at this position) and a 7th round pick from this year,Terrance Pennington will start at right tackle. This is the ideal time to make changes to the o-line since McNally will have 13 days to install the new assignments for these players.

One last note, calm down. Give Losman a couple more games and by week 13 he is still shitting the bed and we're losing then I guess it's time for NALL BALL. Till then, enjoy the Sabres.

What's the point

I think i'm starting to feel a dis-connect with the Buffalo Bills. Yea i was shouting at all the Patriots fans with the Brady Sucks dick and go fuck Matt Damon and Ben Afflieck crack backs and the sarcastic I hope you don't die on the way home bit.. But I knew the Bills were gonna get their asses kicked so it just rang hollow.

I was 14 the last time the Bills were in the playoffs. This season is done and next year isn't looking better unless Nall Ball is a miracle in the making. This week was another in a long line of embarassing loses with no end or hope in sight.

Then again we still have 5 home games left and the chance of going 11-5
SO CIRCLE THE WAGONS, REGROUP OVER THE NEXT 13 DAYS AND ENJOY THE BYE.

Mets loss, St. Louis in the world series?

Randolph in hieghn sight should have put wagner in. Floyd was hackin pretty good. No one should have expected Carlos Beltran to come up huge in that final ab. Extremely dissapointing considering i never though the Mets were gonna lose and this was the biggest game to occur in the state of New York since the Bills lost to the steelers in Jan of 05 to get into the playoffs after the Jets lost.

Awful night for Reyes and Delgado to take off. Reyes wasn't on base once! Wow brutal.. this series was lost with game 2 and 3.

Interesting to compare this Mets team to the 05-06 Sabres. Lots of injuries, over achieved, won the first game of the conferecen/league Championship game. Each team lost game seven, had the lead in game seven, and each hadn't won anything in a while.

I'm not heart broken because I believe the Mets will be around for a while with the likes of Reyes, Wright, and Beltran under long term deals and players like Pelfrey, Bannister, Perez and Maine pitching..

PETE WE NEEDED YOU

Week 7 Preview New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills

Coming in to Orchard Park fresh off a bye, the New England Patriots (4-1), look to take a strangle hold on the AFC East with a win. Frankly, I dont see them not getting that W.

The Bills have struggled against the run and have played acceptable against the pass, while having a top 5 running back and a passing offense run by JP Losman, argueably one of the worse QB's in the league, ranked #29 in the league.

The Patriots however, have a stout running defense and a less than stellar secondary. Their strengths on offense this season have been the running game, while the passing game has struggled.

What does all this mean, apparently the Bills are out matched at every facet of this upcoming game. Atleast it's at the Ralph and the Bills did play the Patriots tough week 1 on the road. However, looking at the Bills record vs. the Patriots in their last 12 games (1-11) history isn't on their side. Also, according to one of my pals this is "probably the second biggest quarterback/coaching mismatch in NFL history". The worst we assume was Belichick/Brady v. Losman/Mularky last season.

But seriously, for the Bills to win (Which apparently some people think that could happen or atleast think the game will stay close, since the line in Vegas has actually gone down from 5.5 to 5[Personally I think that 5.5 was way to low to begin with]) they need Willis to run the football. That means 20 carries by half time, 30-35 touchss in the game. Also the Bills need to run the ball more than they pass, which hasn't been the case. (18 rushes to 34 passes v. Detroit) I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Bills have to make Brady and the Pats beat them through the air by containing Maronney and Dillon if that's possible.

AND FOR GOD SAKES CAN THE DEFENSE MAKE A BIG PLAY

knee jerk reaction to the loss

Just got back from Detroit which is a shit hole by the way with only casinos and parking lots. The Bills have no upside, no future, no leadership, no quarterback of the future or present. The owner is 87 and on his way up, the GM is 82 allegedly and has no experience,
  • Willis will be gone next season
  • JP isn't hasn'twont get it
  • The defense sucks
  • Spikes wont be the player he was
  • Jason Jefferson was on the field
  • Andre Davis should be cut in the next 5 minutes
  • Clements and Mcgee blow and are over rated
  • The secondary sucks, we have no pass rush, we can't stop the run
  • Kenelsey blows, Schobell gets a sack when it doesn't matter
  • We can't force turnovers, come up with big stops,
  • NO play makers exist on this squad
  • The season is over and we have 6 home games left that I have to go to
  • WOW

wee 6

Quikly since my power has been off for the past 24 hours.. the Bills win Sunday (I'll be there) if they out rush the Lions and give up no big plays via inturnovers or speaial teams.. it's that simple..

How bout them Sabres.. still winning via Shootout. Briere still sin't worth $5 mil but they are winning and 3-0 in shoot outs. Win some more regular season games and i'm on board

My thoughts..

God damn did the Bills get the piss kicked out of them this past week. It was painful to watch, and it lead me to figure a few things out.

  • I don't particularly love our coaching staff
  • The defense sucks.. that 3rd and goal from like the 24 and Grossman through a TD, unacceptable.
  • Mcgahee would be a top 5 back if he got more catches and better run blocking. Although what running back wouldn't argue that.
  • Clements and McGee aren't scaring anyone.
  • Losman is still growing
Although hein sight is 20/20 at the time it happened I strongly disagreed with taking a shot at the end zone on that 2nd and 1 play in the Bears territory on the first drive. Who knows when/if we'll be back in that position again.. pound it 3 times and get the first. Instead incomplete, of course no gain on 3rd and short, penalty FAKE PUNT, game pretty much over.

Although it is Football season, I'll mention the Sabres. They are 3-0 perhaps on their way to 82-0. Doubtful but they appear to be a major player this year and I see no sophomore slump in their future. Also, even though they took one of his goals away, Jason Pominville looks like a baller and could score 30+ goals this season. Oh yea, and Daniel Briere, ONLY 3 points through 3 games. Does anyone else think 82 points isn't worth $5 million???

One last note, I'll be in Detroit this weekend definitely seeing the the Bills Lions game, but perhaps if luck happens upon me Sabres Red wings AND Tigers A's Saturday.

Sunday's preview to come..

Week 5 Preview Bills @ Chicago Bears

Alright Chicago is #1 in a lot of power rankings but.. they are in the NFC who seems destined to never win a Super Bowl again, also they are in the anemic NFC north with the Detroit lions packers and Minnesota who the Bills already beat.
Granted, Rex Grossman looks like well no other QB in bears recent history.. good. Furthermore, Urlacher and the Bears defense hasn't given up a pass TD and is overall nearly amazing. In reality, the bears have played 3 teams that are ranked 30th, 28th and 20th in ESPN's power rankings and played a Seahawks team sans the NFL MVP.
This begs the questions, are the Bears that good. The simple question.. Probably. Thusly, quite a few things need to occur for the Bills to pull off a "major" upset in Soldier Field. Mainly, the leagues leading rusher, Willis Mcgahee, needs to produce, and produce hugely, to the tune of 100 yards and a score, Losman not take dumb sacks and not turn the ball over, and the defense to force Grossman to make mistakes. With the Bears front 7 it will take a miracle for Willis to break 100 yards especially with Duke starting at guard so.. Losman will need statistics mirroring that of his game vs. the Jets.

Prediction: The defense or Special teams score the Bills have a chance

.500 through 25% of the season

Willis scored, the Bills won, and it didn't rain. What else can you ask for when the Bills pull out a victory against a mediocre to above mediocre team, the game comes down to the last play, and Losman looked better than he ever has.

I'll tell ya.. A BLOW OUT. Being at the game, I can attest that 60,000 or so fans who stayed till the end were nearly clutching their hearts as the Vikings drove down the field with no time outs and less than 2 minutes on the clock for the win. With some luck and a huge dropped pass the drive ended with a pass over the middle near the Bills red zone with 14 seconds left.

At 2-2 the Bills are in perfect position to cause some headaches the rest of the season and along the way potentially fight for the AFC East, although with the Patriots upset blow out @ Cinci, New England is clearly the class of the East until further notice.

Next week will be a very interesting game @ Chicago. The Bills are 11 point dogs but history has shown that the AFC is much better than the NFC so who knows, and looking at even more recent history the Bills have covered and competed in games in which they are underdogs.
More to come later in the week..
